Belarusian Leads Baku-Open 2011

 

After five rounds Sergey Zhigalko is leader of Baku Open -2011 which is underway in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. Belarusian chess player won all the five matches, he also beat Georgia chess player Mikhei Mchedlishvili (2618) and as a result he is half point ahead Russian Evgeny Romanov.
Mikheil Mchedlishvili has the best results among Georgian participants, he gained 3.5 points. Tornike Sanikidze (2525) and Davit Maghalashvili (2463) have the same points and they are on the 8th , 13rd and the 16th places.
Gaioz Nigaladze (2448, the 25th place) and Merab Gagunashvili (2588, the 29th) have 3-3 points. Giga Kuparadze is on the 35th place with 2.5 points. Bachana Morchiashvili is on the 62nd place with 1.5 point. Salome Melia the only Georgian female participant of this tournament is on the 66th place with 1.5 point.

Baku International tournaments which is underway at “AF-Hotel” (near Caspian Sea, Novkhani) till August 14, and will feature a prize fund of 50 000 EUR.
