In the 10^th round match of Chess Olympiad, ongoing tournament in Istanbul, Georgian women national team beat Vietnam 2.5:1.5 and as a result it is in the 14^th place with 13 points. Nana Dzagnidze (2547) and Nino Batsiashvili (2432) celebrated victory. Nino Khurtsidze (2444) played draw, Lela Javakhishvili (2458) lost.
On September 9, in the last round Georgian chess players play against Spain and in case of victory will take place in top 10 of Olympiad. China and Russia are real candidates of championship, both of them have 17-17 points and Ukraine is in the third place with 16 points.
Georgian men chess team is in the 21^st place with 13 points, which played draw with Israel in the last round. Konstantine Shanava (2569) beat Boris Avrukh (2605), Levan Pantsulaia (2575) lost with Evgeny Postny (2638), Mikheil Mchedlishvili (2659) and Merab Gagunashvili played draw wit Boris Gelfand (2738) and Maxim Rodstein (2642).
In the 11^th round Georgian national team plays against Denmark. As for gold medal, China, Armenia and Russia which are leader with 17-17 points will fight for it.
