"Batumi" Outlined Georgian Final

The second round matches of "Black Sea Cup" which is held on the "Mikheil Meskhi" Stadium finished with such results that Georgian club has a chance to become a champion of this tournament. One Georgian club will surely be in the final and another our club may go through the final too.
In Group A “Batumi XV” defeated Romanian "Arad" 30:17 and will play against "Lokomotivi" Tbilisi in the last round. One finalist will be found out among these two clubs. In the first round of Group B, Ukrainian "Kredo 63" defeated by "Lelo" Tbilisi, beat Romanian "Bucharest" 28:23. If in the last round "Lelo" is defeated by Romanian with less than 7-point difference and does not let its opponent score 4 tries, it will take the first place in the group and will play in the final.
On August 28, on Saint Mariam's Day, “Batumi XV” and "Arad" held the match. Levan Mgeladze, head coach of “Batumi XV", learned the play of opponent well and use the right tactic which worked. Romanians beat "Lokomotivi" in the first round. The guests were winning 21:0 by the end of the first half but Georgian rugby players managed to advance with 28:27 2 minutes before the end of the match. But "Arad" scored penalty and won. In the next match, "Arad" went to the field, hoping to beat another Georgian club and to go through the final. The match began with tense. Romanians were trying to provocate Georgians and to start quarreling but Georgians showed enviable discipline. "Arad" players could not reach their goal. It is significant, that those players were playing for "Arad" who beat Georgian legionaries ("Farul") while fighting (match between "Dinamo" Bucharest and "Farul") at the last Romanian Championship.
Romanian co-coach saw only Georgians fouls and at the 7th minute, Calafeteanu, member of Romanian national team, kicked penalty from 22m and the guests were advanced with 3:0. After first 10 minutes, Georgian rugby players played on the half of the rival and at the 10th minute, Besik Khamashuridze, back of "Aia" Kutaisi, was on the penalty area of the opponent and Davit Kiknadze scored 7:3. Georgians had an obvious advantage. After several minutes Sandro Nijaradze ("Vissol-Kochebi") had a chance to score a try but he threw ball with foot and could not catch it then.
At the 17th minute Calatefeanu tried to minimize the difference with penalty but he missed it from 30m. After this Georgian Giorgi Shkiniani ("Khuligana") scored a try at the 24th minute. Kiknadze scored subsequent conversion kick. After 3 minutes Romanians won a right to kick penaltry and Calafeteanu missed it again. At the 32nd minute "Batumi XV" was left on the field without one player. Kiknadze tackled Romanian without a ball and was sin-binned. The guests used numeral advantage. Bucha caught a drop kick from the right wing and scored the try at the left flag. Calafeteanu scored subsequent conversion kick. Before the break Ashvetia took two penalty kicks. One of these two went between goalposts and the half was finished 17:10. In the second half "Batumi XV” did not let its opponent attack. Kiknadze failed to score a drop kick but at the 48th minute he scored penalty and increase advantage of his team with 10 points. Georgian rugby players had so great advantage that they should have scored minimum 2 tries. But they threw the ball forward and could not use their chances. But at the 61st minute, Archuashvili was in in-goal area and Kiknadze scored subsequent conversion kick - 27:10.
In the last 10 minutes, "Arad" became more active and at the 75th minute Stoikica scored a try and Phillip used subsequent conversion kick. Difference was minimized with 10 points but Georgians summon their strength and did not let the opponent to be advanced. At the last minute Kiknadze scored a penalty from 32m and the match finished - 30:17.
We watched the match between "Arad" and "Lokomotivi". Romanians defeated their opponent at the expense of quick counter-attacks. Today we did not let them do it, played well in defence and won over them. Now finalist will be found out in the match between us and "Lokomotivi" - stated Besik Khamashuridze after the match. The second match turned out to be more tense than the first one. Rugby players could not control themselves and at the beginning of the second half they began fighting. 3 players were sent off. At the first minute, "Bucharest" could not use the chance to score a try. After this, Ukrainians attacked them and Kulakovski scored a try at the 3rd minute. And Deliergiev scored subsequent conversion kick. At the 10th minute he scored a penalty from 30m and - 10:00. Romanians played more actively after this. Minku scored penalties: at the 15th minute from 30m and at the 17th minute from 35m. At the 22nd minute he took the penalty kick from 45m but missed it. In the middle of the half, Ukrainians missed the penalty. Several seconds before the break, Monastirova finished attack of "Kredo" with scoring a try. Though, Masiukov missed subsequent conversion kick and the half finished 15:6.
At the beginning of the second half, Monastirova increased advantage with a penalty up to 12 points. But at the 45th minute, "Bucharest" scored a try but could not score subsequent conversion kick. At the 50th minute, Georgian legionary of "Kredo 63" Kikacheishvili scored the 3rd try of his team (with subsequent conversion kick). At the 52nd minute, the mentioned fight began and the referee sent off one Romanian and two Ukrainian players. One of these two players was Georgian Kikacheishvili who scored a try 2 minuts before this incident. At the 62nd minute, when referee sin-binned Gegidze, "Kredo 63" was ledt with 12 players on the field. At the 66th and 71th minutes, "Bucharest" scored two tries, used one subsequent conversion kick and minimized difference up to 2 points - 23:25. Soon Gegidze returned to the field. Referee sin-binned Romanian Minku, "Kredo 63" scored a penalty and the match was finished - 28:23. For less than 7-point difference "Bucharest" received one bonus point, "Kredo 63" got 4 points for winning. None of the teams scored 4 and more tries and "Lelo" Tbilisi kept the best chance to become winner of the group.
