After the first day of the sparring match between Georgian and Azerbaijani national chess tournaments, guest team advanced 3.5:1:5. Shahriar Mamediarov (2726) brought the decisive superiority to Azerbaijani and Rauf Mamedov (2628) brought the decisive superiority to Azerbaijan, who beat Levan Pantsulaia (2581) and Konstantine Shanava (2589).
As far as you know, the match is held according to the Shveningan’s system in 5 rounds- each player has 90 minutes for each move and then 30 minutes till the end of the match +30 seconds from the first move.
In the first round of the tournament at Tbilisi chess palace Georgian chess players play with black pieces as well as in the third round, as for the second and the fourth round hosts player play with white pieces, for the fifth round will be held additional ballot.
