Georgian chess player Shota Azaladze goes on successful competition. In the fourth round of The European Individual Chess Championship, which is underway in the city of Bulgaria, Plovdiv Azaladze beat Slovenian Alexander Beliavsky (2630) with white pieces and as a result took the second place with 3.5 points. It is worth mentioning that Shota was No.222 rank at this tournament. Azaladze is half point behind Gawain Jones (England, 2635). Other 19 chess players also have the same points as Azaladze, but he is ahead them with additional points. Baadur Jobava (2706) leader of Georgian national team celebrated the second victory after unsuccessful start.
He beat Russian Vasily Papin (2575) with black pieces and took the 45th place with 3.0 points.

The championship is based on Swiss system and it will end up on March 31. March 27 is a day off. Prize money of the tournament is 100 000 EUR. Champion will get 14 000 EUR. Top 25 chess players will be awarded.
