Avtoshow of the First Georgian Professional

 

“Avtandil Khurtsidze is a very good boxer. He beat me and deserved victory. He is ready to win other championship belts and perhaps, he will fight against other champions” – stated Polish boxer Marius Sendrovsky to “World Sport” after losing against Avtandil Khurtsidze. Yesterday, Georgian boxer who is known as “Tornado” beat his opponent within 12 rounds and became world champion in middleweight.

Boxing evening which was organized by Ukrainian Elite Boxing Promotion Company ended up with Khurtsidze-Sendrovsky fight. Before that, 5 rating fights were held on the ring.

Fight between Ambrosi Sutidze (69,8 kg) and Robinzon Omsarashvili ended up draw. Beak Sajaia (61,2 kg) beat Ruben Movsesyan. Boris Mdinaradze (72,6 kg) won over Valentin Volokha by knockout in the 3rd round. Russian Marat Kulumbekov (72,6 kg) beat Ukrainian Andrey Danichkin by knockout in the 1st round. Ukrainian Viktor Postol (63,5 kg) beat Ugandan Sam Rukundo who was competing in the name of Sweden. Fans who gathered at Sports Palace thought that Rukundo deserved victory. People applauded the Negro boxer and whistled at the winner Ukrainian.

Soon, Khurtsidze and Sendrovsky showed up on the ring. Georgian national dance was performed before the fight. Everyone watched it except Polish boxer.

After the first round, Khurtsidze became more active and attacked his opponent aggressively. Sendrovsky tried to avoid strong attacks. This tactic did not lead him to victory. Finally, scores were counted this way: 117:111, 120:108, 116:112 in the favor of Avtandil Khurtsidze, though, Kurtanidze was declared as a winner?!

World champion Khurtsidze thanked all fans and mentioned in the interview with “World Sport” that perhaps, after three months he would hold fight to keep the championship belt.
