Austrian-Georgian Experiment

Georgian judo team which gained only one medal and Olympic licence at World Championship will continue earning licences at international tournaments. The first tournament where the team of Peter Seisenbacher will compete is Baku World Cup. The tournament will be held next weekend.

Austrian specialist named experimental staff for Azerbaijan. There are five such sportsmen who were not considered as the main candidates of the team in the current season.

Ushangi Kuzanashvili and Paata Merebashvili (both 60 kg) will wrestle on the Azerbaijani tatami. Levan Chubinidze and Giorgi Mkalavishvili will wrestle in 66 kg, Tengiz Paposhvili and Ambako Avaliani – in 73 kg, Paata Gviniashvili and Shota Javakhadze – in 81 kg, Levan Zhorzholiani – in 100 kg and Adam Okruashvili – in +100 kg. According to the decision of Seisenbacher, Georgian team will not have participant in 90 kg. So, Georgian judo team will compete in 6 weight classes. Three of them (Kuzanashvili, Zhorzholiani and Okruashvili) will participate in World Sambo Championship.

Vladimer Nutsubidze, general secretary of Georgian Judo Federation, will be in Georgian delegation. Also, he will be referee at the tournament.
