In 1951 Louis van Gaal head coach of Dutch National Team, Amsterdam “Aiack”, “Barcelona “, “Alkmaar”, “Baiern”. He was the most successful in “Aiack”. In 1995 his team won Champions League. They also won Dutch Championship three times and once UEFA Cup(1992). In 1995 “Aiack” beat Brazilian “Gremio” in Continent Cup final match. In 1996 “Aiack” was again in Champions League final and lost with Turin “Juventus”. “Barcelona” twice became Spain champion and won Europa Super Cup. In 2009 his team “Alkmaar” won Dutch Championship and after it he became head coach of Miunkhen “Baiern”.In 2010 they became German Champions and played in final match of Champions League. As a footballer he played in “Antverpen”, Roterdam “Sparta” and in “Alkmaar”. He started coach career in “Alkmaar”, later he became assistant of Leo Beenhakker. As a head coach of Amsterdam he started working in 1991.

1900. In the U.S.A. in the city of Massachusetts State, Brooklyn started first final match of Devis Club in “Longwood Cricket Club” courts. The first owner of Devis Cup became National Team of The U.S.A, which beat The Great Britain 3:2. (Duait Devis, member of National Team of The U.S.A presented prize to tournament)
1902. National Team of The U.S.A beat the Great Britain 3:2 in final match of Devis Cup in New-York.
1903. National team of The Great Britain beat The U.S.A. in the 3rd final match of Devis Cup 4:1. Match was held in the city of Boston.
1962. Tbilisi“Dinamo” draw with “Hanover” 2:2 in friendly international match. Zaur Kaloev scored once from Georgians and the second goal was scored by Germen in their own door. Match was held in the city of Hanover. “Dinamo” staff: Kotrikadze,Datunashvili, Boris Sichinava, Khurtsilava, Iamanidze, Chokheli, Zeinklishvili, Giogi Sichinava, Kaloev, Barkaia, Meskhi. Head coach was Mikhail Iakushin.
1970. Tbilisi“Dinamo” played the 5th time in final match of Soviet Union Cup and lost again.  This time, Georgians were defeated by Russians 2:1. Shota Khinchagashvili scored from Georgian side. Match was held in “Lujnik” stadium in Moscow.

1973. Tostao (Eduardo Gonçalves Andrade), world champion in 1970, made a statement about leaving football because of sight problem. He played 55 matches and scored 33 goals in Brazilian national team. He played in "Cruzeiro" and "Vasco da Gama" clubs. He got eye injury while playing in "Cruzeiro" in 1969 in the match with "Corinthian" when a ball hit his face. Doctors treated him and he managed to play in Mexican Championship 1970. But he got another eye injury in 1973 and he had to finish his football career. That time Tostao was only 26 years old (he was born on January 25 in 1947). Later, he began working as a sport journalist and commentator.

1976. "Dinamo" Tbilisi beat "Amsterdam" 6:1 in the match for the third place of International Tournament in the city of Spain, La Linea. Revaz Chelebadze (2), Vitali Daraselia, Manuchar Machaidze, Davit Kipiani and Aleksandre Chivadze scored goals. "Dinamo": Gogia, Dzodzuashvili, Chelidze, Khinchagashvili, Khizanishvili, Chivadze, Manauchar Machaidze, Koridze, Daraselia (Kopaleishvili), Kipiani (Gocha Machaidze), Chelebadze. Nodar Akhalkatsi was a team coach.

1988. American swimmer Matt Biondi achieved 200 meter freestyle World record (1:47,69).

1989. "Dinamo" Tbilisi beat Scottish "Hearts" 2:0 in friendly match. Kakha Gogichaishvili scored one goal and Scottish footballers scored another goal themselves. The match was held in the capital of Scotland, Edinburgh. "Dinamo": Gabelia, Ketashvili, Tskhadadze, Chedia, G. Jishkariani, Chikovani, Daraselia (Aptsiauri), Tsveiba, Ketsbaia, Kacharava, Gogichaishvili. Davit Kipiani was a team coach.

1995. "Dinamo" Tbilisi was beat by "Botev" 0:1 in the first match of UEFA qualifying stage in Bulgaria. "Dinamo": Zoidze, Kobiashvili, Machavariani, Didava, Demetradze (Kaladze), Gogichaishvili, Tskitishvili, Kacharava, Khomeriki, Gakhokidze (Tsaava). Davit Kipiani was a team coach.

2002. In New York a match was held between "Real" Madrid and "Roma" to celebrate 100th anniversary of "Royal Club". The match finished draw without goals.
2005. Executive committee of Georgian Football Federation pointed Gaioz Darsadze as a head coach, before the end of World Championship selective round 2006.

2005. "Genoa", winner of Italian Serie B, was charged with bribing matches. They were fined with 3 points and continued playing in Serie C.
2005. Wayne Gretzky, the best hockey player and shooter of Hockey National League, was appointed as a head coach of "Phoenix Coyotes".


2008. XXIX Olympic Games were open in the capital of China, Beijing.
2009. Match of Italian Super Cup was held in the capital of China, Beijing. "Lazio" Roma, winner of Apennines, beat winner of scudetto "Inter" Milan 2:1.

1924. Nikolai Sologubov, Soviet hockey player. Olympic champion in 1956. Bronze medal winner of Olympiad in 1960. World champion in 1956 and 1963. He was named as the best defender of World Championships in 1956, 1957 and 1960. A 9-time European champion (1955-63). He was a team captain (1957-61).

1932. Zito, defensive midfielder of Brazilian national football team "San Paulo" in 1950-60. World Champion in 1958 and 1962. He won Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup twice. He won Brazilian Cup 5 times, champion of San Paulo State many times. Fans gave him a name "Patrao".
1939. Viorica Viscopoleanu, Romanian athlete, long jump World Champion in 1968.

1947. Ken Draiden, goalkeeper of Canadian ice hockey team and "Montreal Canadiens". He had a debut in Hockey National League in 1970-1971 and was named as the best player of that play-off. He won 6 Stanley Cups. He was named as the best goalkeeper 5 times. He participated in Canada- USSR Super League. He left the team at the age of 26 because of conflicts with team management. Though "Canadiens" agreed with his terms and Ken came back to the team. Draiden finished his career in 1979. He became president of "Toronto Maple Leafs" in 1997. He has written some books. Also he worked as a lawyer. 

1953. Nigel Mansell, British driver of Formula-1, World Champion in 1992. He was named as one of the best fighters in the world.

1961. Charmaine Crooks, Jamaican athlete. She competed in the name of Canada. She won silver medal for running 400 meters in Olympic Games in 1984. Also she participated in Olympic Games in 1988, 1992 and 1996.

1978. Giorgi Lomaia, goalkeeper of Georgian national football team, "Dinamo" Tbilisi and "Lokomotiv", "Spartak" Moscow, "Luch-Energiya" Vladivostok, "Carl Zeiss" Jena, "Karpaty" Lvov, "Inter" Baku. He played 45 matches in Georgian team.
