Arutinian Wins Jermuk Tournament

 

 

 

Davit Arutinian (2561) won Karen Asrian memorial which was underway in the city of Armenia, Jermuk. Georgian chess player won 6 matches in 9 rounds, played three draws and gained 7.5 points.
In decisive round Arutinian played draw with Armenian Avetik Grigoryan (2581). Girgoryan and another host chess player Artashes Minasyan took the second-third places.
Konstantine Shanava (2589) gathered 6.0 points and took the fifth place. Davit Maghalashvili (2478) also entered in top 10, he took the eighth place with 6.0 points.
Sofiko Guramishvili (2408) took the 13rd place with 5.5 points, as for women tournament she took the first place. Gaioz Nigaladze (2465) took the 26th place with 5.0 points. Davit Lomsadze (2345) took the 44th place with 3.5 points. As for Ana Matnadze(2446) representative of Spain, she took the 28th place with 4.0 points.
Prize money of the tournament is 18 500 USD, Arutinian won 4 000, Shanava 1000 USD, Maghalashvili – 500, Guramishvili -300. Sofiko, as winner of the women tournament won 800 USD.
