National rugby 2011 season finishes. On December 4 is to be held final matches of sevens rugby, in these matches will be found out sevens rugby champion and the season will finish.
As a rule, every clubs which compete in the first league and supreme league had to participate in Georgian sevens rugby championship, but they refused to take part in this tournament. Number of the teams was shortened in the second stage and that’s why several clubs from supreme league stayed beyond finals stage. Traditionally, in the first two stages teams gain points according to their places. Among them are found out 8 teams, which fight for final stage.
Due to mentioned refusal, 5 teams from the first league went through the final stage at the same time, but after sub-group stage, most of them lost the chance of fighting for cup. “Armia” winner of Georgian championship and Georgian Cup competes well at sevens tournament well, it won all the matches and none of the teams managed to score try against them. From group A, besides “Armia”, “Batumi” also goes on fighting, it won the right for righting 15s rugby supreme league. In group B, “Kochebi” and “Lokomotivi” continue fighting. In play-off matches start at 12 0’clock and at 150’clock at “Shevardeni” base.
