Arabidze Took the Fifth Place

 

Georgian chess player Meri Arabidze (2379) won over Klara Varga of Hungary (2181) in the 13th round of World Junior Chess Championships which was held in the capital of Greece, Athens. Arabidze earned 9.0 points and took the 5th place.

Arabidze won 6 games, played 6 draws and lost to Deysi Cori of Peru (2413) in the 11th round.

Four chess players – Qi Guo (China, 2358), Nastassia Ziaziulkina (Belarus, 2342), Anastasia Bodnaruk (Russia, 2414) and Aulia Medina Warda (Indonesia, 2218) earned 9.5 points and shared places. Another Georgian participant Nani Unapkoshvili (2011) took the 28th place with 7.0 points.

Alexander Ipatov of Turkey (2477) won boys’ tournament. He earned 10.0 points and was ahead of Richard Rapport of Hungary (2605). Shalva Nadirashvili took the 79th place with 6.0 points. Dimitri Kvaratskhelia (2093) took the 95th place with 5.5 points.
