August 9 is day off at U-20 World Championship ongoing in the capital of Greece, Athens. After seven rounds four players advanced at girls tournament with 5.5 points, among these leaders there is no Georgians.
Anastasia Bodnaruk (Russia, 2414), Nastasia Ziazulkina (Belarus, 2342), Irina Bulmaga (Moldova, 2380) and Corry Teis (Perusm 2413) are leaders. Georgian Meri Arabidze is 0.5 point behind leaders and according to the additional points she is in the seventh place.
In the last round Arabidze beat Pole Monika Sahite (2162), in the eighth round she plays against Yue Vang (China, 2355) with black pieces. As for Nani Unapkoshvili (2011) she is in the 50th place with 2.5 points.
At men tournament Shalva Nadirashvili (2115) is in the 63th place with 3.5 points and Dimitri Kvarsatskhelia (2093) is in the third place with 2.5 points.
World Junior Championships are based on Swiss system. The last round will be held on August 15.
