On Monday Jaba Bregvadze member of Georgian national rugby team and “Armia” Tbilisi if successfully passes medical and sport check in such case he will sign contract with “Toulouse” one of the titled French rugby club.
Since the end of the previous year “Toulouse” French leading rugby club and leader of the current tournament has problems. Its problem started when South African Gary Botha of “Toulouse” injured. “Toulouse” with status of “Medical joker” invited 36-year-old Akvsenti Giorgadze captain of Georgian national team, who used to play for “Castres” and now plays in Federal 2. He played in the first match for half an hour and was in the main staff in the next match, but he injured at the 15th minute and was substituted.
As medical analyses showed, Giorgi was seriously injured and would not be able to play till the end of the season. That’s why “Toulouse” asked for adding “medical joker” again and was allowed. This time “Toulouse” chose Jaba Bregvadze. Nothing is decided yet but hope that 24-year-old Georgian will distinguish himself he will stay in “Toulouse” not only till the end of the season but for a long time.
If the results of checking are satisfying, Bregvadze will have debut on January 28. On Saturday is held XVI round of Top 14 regular championship against “Racing Metro”. Jaba is 180 cm height and weights 90 kg. In 2008 he had debut in national team against A team of South Africa at IRB Nations Cup. Since that time he played 17 matches for “The Lelos” and tried once, at 2011 World Cup he participated into three matches.
