Georgian top seed Anna Tatishvili advanced in WTA ranking with three places and is in the 76th place. 22-year-old Georgian girl has 843 points. Tatishvili reached her highest ranking in this May when she was in the 69th place.
Anna has a good chance of advancing this week. She was trying to get in the main draw of Cincinnati tournament (2 168 400 USD) but lost in the qualifying draw.
In the last round Tatishvili lost to Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan and finished participation in Western & Southern Open. Though, Anna is a lucky one.
Ana Ivanovic of Serbia refused to participate because of injury. Tatishvili had the best ranking in the last qualifying round and got in the main draw as a “lucky loser”.
Anna will hold the next match at 19:00 Tbilisi time. Klara Zakopalova of Czech Republic will be her opponent. If Georgian tennis player uses this chance and beats the Czech, she will earn 70 ranking points. In the next round she will play against winner between Nadia Petrova and Ekaterina Makarova. Petrova defeated Tatishvili in the second round of London Olympics.
The Georgian girl will play in doubles draw today. Anna and Makarova will play against American-Indian duet at 23:30.
Sofia Kvatsabaia anad Ekaterine Gorgodze will compete in Ratingen tournament (Germany, 10 000 USD). Kvatsabaia is No.2 seed and Gorgodze – No.8 seed.
