Georgian No.1 tennis player Anna Tatishvili is preparing for Wimbledon and now she is competing at Birmingham AEGON Classic on grass courts (prize money 220 000 $). She won the first round easily and her next rival is her namesake Anna Ivanovich.
Georgian top seed who is No.118 seed in the world won over British Samantha Murray 7:5, 6:1.
21-year-old Tatishvili won over 23-year-old rival in every component. It was not surprising because Murray is No.615 seed in the world.
As a result Tatishvili gained 15 rating points and 1350 $. In the upcoming round her rival is quite strong tennis player. Tatishvili plays the first time in her career against Ivanovich, in case of success she will gain 30 points and will go through 1/8 final.
23-year-old Serbian tennis player is No.19 seed in world’s ranking and she is ranked No.2 at Birmingham tournament, but in spite of this she does not compete successfully lately. Supposedly, the match between Tatishvili and Ivanovich is to be held tomorrow. In such case Tatishvili will hold two matches a day. In doubles’ tournament Georgian tennis player and Nopavan Lerteevakarn of Thailand are to play against American duet – Lee-Outers and Multon-Levis.
