1/16 final match against Swiss “Basel” was the first match at Euro tournament which Jano Ananidze played full time. In the first match Ananidze scored and it brought victory to the club and as a result to it he deserved being in the main staff.
In compare with the first match Ananidze could not manage to be distinguished in the second match, but in spite of this his club beat the rival – 1:1. “Spartak” would go through the next round without winning this match, because they had won the first match 3:2.
In the first half, Georgian striker was given chance to perform penalty kick, but after consultation with wing referee it was annulled.
