Today, at 16:30 o’clock (Tbilisi time) Georgian national basketball team, which competes first time at European championship holds the second match of the second sub-group stage and in case of victory keeps chance of going through the quarterfinal.
As far as you know, Georgian team held the first match of the second stage against Macedonia at “Siemens Arena” on October 8. American Bo McCalebb, who scored 27 points in this match played the biggest role in victory of Macedonia and scored two point kicks two minutes before the final whistle.
By the way, Macedonia lost the only match against Montenegro at the first stage. Macedonia won over Croatia, Finland, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Greece. On October 8 Macedonia was celebrating the 20th anniversary of independence and wanted to achieve victory against Georgians. Finally, they reached their goal in a very interesting and tense match.
This match is past, in one hour and half starts match against Finland and Georgian team needs only victory. Georgian team is preparing for the upcoming match with 10 players. As far as you know, Pachulia captain of the team and Giorgi Tsintsadze cannot help the team due to injury.
Georgian team had a lot of fans before the previous match, but now each neutral fan support Georgia. In press-boxes journalists express they regret over injured players and mention, that after their national teams they support Georgia. For going through the quarterfinal Georgian team has to beat Finland and Greece and Slovenia or Greece has to loose both of the left matches.
If Georgia beats Finland and Russia wins over Greece, the team which will go through the quarter final will be found out in Georgia-Greece match.
