On January 13 “Dinamo” Tbilisi is to leave for meeting and before flying to Spain head coach of the club Alex Garcia held the press-conference at national stadium.
Alex Garcia: “first of all, happy new year. Yesterday we held the first training with new players. Some players left the club, some joined us. We are very happy that started new year with such determination”.
- How did you rest?
- I always rest well with my family. When I arrived here, my little sod did not know how to walk but now he started walking. He made me New Year present.
- Two new players were transferred – Merebashvili and Dzaria. What about them?
- Before taking holidays, me president of the club and Zurab Pololikashvili discussed future transfers. We talked about players, who will strengthen the club and will make competition. I observe these players for a long time. They will add us what we lacked. Experienced players added to young staff.
- How much satisfied you are with club’s results? How are you going to overcome handicap with “Zestaponi”? What caused such result, which can be called shameful?
- Our goal was stability, but during this period we were instable.
- How much real is to become champion of Georgia?
- If we win all the matches we will become.
- Was defensive weak point for the club? Are you going to join defenders?
- In our team everyone attacks and defense in equal way. If you watch our matches, our first striker is Loria. We try our first defenders to be strikers.
- How can you explain instability? “Dinamo’ has the best conditions in Georgia, but there is no any sign of improving the playing…
- To my mind, we had good matches too. In some concrete moments instability played its role. We played against “Zestaponi” for 65 minutes very well and we could win the match, but in last 30 minutes 5 goals were scored in our goal.
- After the matches against “Dila” and “Merani” you sometimes used to complain lawn’s condition, sometimes referees. Is not it awkward for head coach of “Dinamo”?
- It is not justification of ourselves. Just these are very important details. When we lose it means that we lose and we are responsible with it.
- Does “Dinamo” need creative football player in centre?
- In my opinion we lacked some competition environment and today we have it.
- In comparison with “Zestaponi”, “Dinamo” is not well staffed. How is responsible with I am with the club and see what it lacks. A long ago I told to authority of the club which positions needed to be strengthened. Sport director is responsible with selection.
- Will all Spanish players stay in “Dinamo”?
- We will not release any of them. On the contrary, we will transfer one more Spanish player – central midfielder Andreu Guerao, who used to play for “Sporting” Gijon and his last club was ‘Auckland City”.
- You were under psychological pressure in last matches, what you stated too..
- In a word, now I want to say that everything is ok. Then I said just we needed patience and feeling of calmness. It is not surprising that “Dinamo” is under pressure, it should be, because we can win.
- “Dinamo” was weaker in away matches than in home ones..
- As I have already mentioned we could not manage to reach stability.
- How much unanimous is staff of “Dinamo” – you, general director and sport director?
- We have amazing relationships. All of us do our bests for “Dinamo”.
- Who is the next player, who are you going to transfer?
- There are negotiations about Gogua and we will reach agreement. He will be with us during the meeting. Negotiations are underway with Sandro Guruli and we wait for the answer.
- Will you play with 4-3-3 tactic again? What will be Merebashvili’s position?
- Our playing tactic 4-3-3 remains the same. I will use this meeting to define playing position for Merebashvili.
- Are not you thinking over changing tactic?
- If we went through Europe League, this question would not be asked. Our team has the best result in qualifying round, am I lying? There is statistic in UEFA web-site.
- But finally this tactic did not bring success in Europe League as well as in Georgian championship. You did not have strong rivals in Europe League..
- Do you think that AEK is not strong team? I am asking you, so when we win it means that our rival is weak?
- We do not have negative attitude towards foreign legionaries. How do you think, when legionary joins club, should he be better than local player? Are you satisfied with Spanish legionaries?
- To tell the truth I am satisfied, but I might be more satisfied.
- Xisco stays, you transferred Merebashvili and Gogua.. Will three leaders cause disbalance?
- No, it will not. We needed new players and we transferred them.
- After showed results in Georgian championship by “Dinamo”, a lot of people put your competence under question mark. What would you respond to critics?
- It is reality of football – when you do not have result, I put this responsibility on me. What should we do? We should double our working. More can be done. There is normal environment for working.
On January 13 at dawn “Dinamo” flies to Barcelona and till January 23 stays there. During this time “Dinamo” will hold two sparring matches. Supposedly, “Espanol”  (Primera Division) and “Teresa” (Segunda B) will be rivals of “Dinamo”.
On January 23 “Dinamo” leaves for Marbella from Barcelona, where will compete at Impact Cup. “Krakow” of Poland is the first opponent of “Dinamo” and other opponents will be found out during the tournament.  But it is already known that “Dinamo” will play two matches after playing against “Krakow”. Besides “Dinamo” and “Krakow”, Ukrainian “Dinamo” Kiev, Bulgarian “Lokomotiv” Plovdiv, “Young Boys” of Switzerland, Hungarian “Videoton”, Lithuanian “Ekranas” and “Striomsgodset” of Norway will compete at Impact Cup.
