Kakha Kaladze, Levan Kobiashvili, Aleksandre Iashvili – these three players are not called up for a friendly match against Moldova which will be held on November 11. Several injured players (Jaba Kankava, Aleksandre Kobakhidze, Davit Targamadze, Roin Kvaskhvadze) are not also in the list of Ketsbaia. Kaladze, “Kobi” and “Iashka” are not injured. So, there is a question – why these three players?
“World Sport” contacted Iashvili in Germany and we found out from him and Ketsbaia just let these players rest. The same happened in a friendly match against Slovenia last November:
- We are interested why you are not in the list of the national team.
- Nothing special. Ketsbaia called and told me that he wanted to let young players play. It is the reason.
- One month ago, you told us that you were thinking about ending up the national team career. I hope you are not going to do it yet…
- I will play in the team till it is necessary. Ketsbaia just let some experienced players rest and debutants play. In my opinion, it is right that 34-year-old football player misses a friendly match. It happens in the national teams of other countries.
- “Karlsruhe” lost to “Schalke” 0:2 at German Cup. What can you say about this match?
- We played well. Not well but really well… “Schalke” did not kick toward our goal till the 81st minute. We had three goal moments at least. Unfortunately, we were scored 2 goals in last 10 minutes. I can say that it was our one of the best matches of the year.
Like Iashvili, Kobiashvili and Kaladze are not in the list of Ketsbaia because of the same reason.
