Albert II Attends Opening Ceremony of the New Building of Olympic Committee

From now on, Georgian Olympic complex is situated in Machabeli street. Very famous representatives of Georgian sports and politics presented opening ceremony. Alber II- Monaco prince who is paying visit in Georgia also was invited to this ceremony.  The guests visited the new complex and went towards press-conference hall, where Gia Natsvlishvili president of Georgian National Olympic Committee addressed to the assembled people:
"Today is a historic day. The new building is opened and we hope that we will celebrate victories here. 4 years ago, such a huge success seemed impossible. In this case 2015 Olympic Games played big role. I want to thank Prince Albert II-and Rafaele paniotsis. Mr. Mayor Gigi Ugulava played big role in this success. His reference was made to build this building. Thanks to government support, in particular, Mikheil Saakashvili and Vladimer Vardzelashvili. Thanks to each person who contributed even a little in this success.  I was interested in statistic and found out that Georgia as country which has 4 -million population has big achievements at Olympic Games. Georgia has really sport mentality”.

The First Georgian Olympic Champions – Mzia Jugheli and Rafael Chirishkiani (1952) also were invited to this ceremony. Besides this, family members of dead Davit Tsimakuridze also attended this ceremony. All of them were awarded with Olympic insignias.

Foreign guests wished good luck to Georgian sportsmen. Nodar Kumaritashvili Georgian sportsman who tragically died in Vancouver Winter Olympics also was commemorated several times in this evening.

After ending presentations, Gigi Ugulava mayor of Tbilisi made a little comment:” I congratulate every sportsmen new complex. I think it is the best place to meet each other. Rehabilitation of this building is a very important.  There is still much to do. We will do our best to host Olympic Games in Tbilisi in a high level in 2015. There is London Olympics before that and I wish all sportsmen good luck”.
