The last transfer from Georgian football players was the transfer of Akaki Khubutia to “Samsunspor”. 25-year-old defender of Georgian national football team will play for Turkish club on loan for one year. “Samsunspor” bought 8 new players in last two weeks.

Why “Samsunspor” – “World Sport” talked to Khubutia about this and other issues.

Akaki Khubutia:  I wanted to play in a better league and I think that Turkish Championship is better than Romanian one. Playing for “Samsunspor” is acceptable for me now.

- After the match against Poland in August, you had conflict with head coach of “Gaz Metan” Cristian Pustai. Did it have influence on your decision about changing the club?

- Conflict ended up soon.

- As you told us before, German clubs were interested in you.

- According to my agent, “Fraiburg”, “Mainz” and “Wolfsburg” were interested in me. But I got injury and transfers were over. By the way, “Maccabi” Haifa where Lado Dvalishvili is playing was interested in me too.

- Are you training now?

- Yes, individually. I will join the team soon. I will not play against “Gencler” in the first round. In the second round, we will play against “Galatasaray” and I want my debut to be held in Istanbul. I am better and I think I can start training. But I do not wan to hurry.

- What are the goals of “Samsunspor”?

- The team has good staff. I like the coach too. They have not told us about goals. The season will start and we will see. For example, Burkinabe Aristide Bance is a good player. He was presented with me. He played for German “Mainz”, scored 13 goals and then transferred to “Al-Ahli” Dubai. He was teammate of Fabio Cannavaro.

- Why did you choose No.24?

- It was free. No.13 and 3 were busy.
