In two days Georgian national free-style team leaves for Azerbaijan and will compete at Baku World Cup on May 12-13. Zaza Turmanidze head coach of Georgian national team staffed the team for traditional team tournament in such way: Giorgi Edisherashvili (55 kg), Malkhaz Zarkua (60 kg), Zurab Iakobashvili (66 kg), Davit Khutsishvili (74 kg), Davit Marsagishvili (84kg), Elizbar Odikadze (96 kg) and Davit Modzmanashvili (120 kg).
According to the preliminary agenda, Georgian team had to compete at World Cup with the best staff, three weight categories from seven lacks from leaders of the team. Vladimer Khinchegashvili (55kg), Otar Tushishvili (66kg) and Giorgi Gogshelidze (96kg) have just wrestled at license tournament and according to coaches’ decision, their loading is not useful. This Azerbaijani tournament will be one of the starting tournament in preparation process for Zarkua, Khutsishvili, Marsagishvili and Modzmanashvili.
These following 10 countries will compete at this tournament: Georgia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran, The United States of America, Turkey, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Japan and Bulgaria.
On May 11 ballot will be held for making two sub-groups including these teams. After holding sub-group stage matches, first-place winners play against each other in final and the second-place winners will fight for the third place.
