9 Georgians will Wrestle at Grand Slam

Soso Liparteliani, head coach of Georgian judo team, will take 9 judokas to Paris Grand Slam which will take place on the next weekend. 2-2 Georgian judokas will wrestle in 60, 73 and 81 kg. Georgia will have no judokas in 66 kg.

Only three judokas who participated in Tbilisi World Cup will compete in Grand Slam. These judokas are: Betkil Shukvani (60 kg), Tengiz Paposhvili (73 kg) and Adam Okruashvili (+100 kg). All these judokas were left beyond top three at Sports Palace.

Amiran Papinashvili (60 kg) and Levan Tsiklauri (81 kg) will participate in Grand Slam. They could not compete in Georgian Championship because of injury. Levan Zhorzholiani (100 kg) will also wrestle on tatami in Paris. He won Georgian Championship but then he had a waist pain and could not participate in Tbilisi World Cup.

Nugzar Tatalashvili (73 kg), Lasha Zurabiani (81 kg) and Varlam Liparteliani (90 kg) will wrestle at Grand Slam. These three judokas could not win medals at Georgian Championship and that is why they missed Tbilisi World Cup.
