Khanty-Mansiysk, the city of Russia, will host Women’s World Chess Championship which will start on November 9 and end up on December 3. Six Georgian chess players will participate in the tournament: Maia Chiburdanidze, Nana Dzagnidze, Bela Khotenashvili, Nino Khurtsidze, Lela Javakhishvili and Sopho Khukhashvili.

World Championship among 64 participants will be held by Olympic system. The Championship has a total prize fund of USD 450,000. For participating in round 1 players receive 3750 USD, for round 2 (1/16 final) - 5500 USD, round 3 (1/8 final) - 8000 USD, round 4 (1/4 final) - 12 000 USD, round 5 (semifinal) - 20 000 USD, round 6 (final) - 30 000 USD. Champion will win 60 000 USD.
