Georgian youth judo team ended up the last day of World Championship without medal. The last four members of Gia Gugava’s team wrestled yesterday and only Levan Matiashvili (+100 kg) had better result than others.

Current silver medal winner of Europe started participation from 1/8 final and beat Maisara Elnagar of Egypt by ippon. Then, he lost to Anton Krivobokov of Russia. One yuko decided the fate of the match. In semifinal of repechage, Georgian judoka wrestled against Sven Heinle of Germany and lost the match. Levan Matiashvili took the 7^th place at the championship.

Ushangi Kokauri also wrestled in heavyweight but he lost in the first round. He lost to Nabil Zalagh of France.

World Junior Judo Championship ended up with the anthem of Japan. Heavyweighter Takeshi Ojitani was the fifth in his team who stood on the highest step of the pedestal.

100 kg is that weight class which head coach Gia Gugava changed completely – he replaced Giorgi Tsnobiladze and Elguja Bibilashvili with Guram Tushishvili and Davit Merabishvili. The most interesting was Tushishvili to show up in the team. This boy wrestled in cadet team and became world champion. Unlike Beka Gviniashvili (81 kg), he could do nothing at this championship. Guram lost to European champion Domenico Di Guida of Italy. No one could stop Guida till the final and won silver medal.

Davit Merabishvili wrestled on tatami only once – in the first round he lost to Mohamed Abdelrahman of Egypt.

Georgian youth team which won 3 bronze medals took the 7^th place among 62 countries. Of course, Japan took the first place. Russia took the second place.
