For the First Time in History: the Georgian Water Polo Team Has a Chance to Play at Tokyo Olympics

The Georgian water polo team will play at Olympic qualifying tournament for the first time in its history. 12 teams will participate in this tournament.

The following teams will be Georgia’s opponents: Croatia, Greece, Germany, Montenegro, Brazil, Russia, Canada, Argentina, Netherlands and two Asian teams.

These 12 teams will compete in two groups. The draw will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland, on February 11. The Olympic qualifying tournament will be held in Rotterdam on March 22-29.

The Georgian team took the tenth place at European Championship in Budapest which turned out to be a historical result.
