Match-fixing scandals do not seem to end in Italian football. According to today’s information, law enforcement officers of the country detained 19 people because of “fixed” matches and famous players are among them.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Stefano Mauri, captain of “Lazio” Rome”, and Omar Milanetto, midfielder of “Padova” and former player of “Genoa”, are among the detained people.
According to Football Italia, the law enforcement officers arrested Cristian Bertani (“Sampdoria”), Paolo Acerbis (“Vicenca”), Alessandro Pelicor (“Torino”), Marco Turati (“Modena”) and Matteo Gritti (“Petrolul”).
It is not excluded that this week the police may be interested in Kakha Kaladze, former player of “Genoa”, and Giuseppe Sculli. Domenico Criscito is already questioned.
According to the spread information, house of Antonio Conte, head coach of “Juventus”, is searched.
20 Italian clubs are suspected in match-fixing. Italian Football Federation states that 61 people are already questioned, including 52 players. Investigation is held about 33 matches. Most of them were held in second division of Italy.
