“Dinamo” of Alex Garcia beat Icelander “Reykjavik” 6:1 in two matches and is waiting for Friday’s ballot which will find out its opponent. Before that, let us enjoy statistic: “Dinamo” won 5 matches from 6 at Europa League and lost only one, ball difference is – 17:4.
After winning 4:1 in Reykjavik, “Dinamo” could play without injuries and yellow-red cards but it did not happen. Jambul Jigauri received the second yellow card at the 81st minute and had to leave the pitch. Jigauri could not bear rudeness of Icelanders and he will miss the first match of play off.
When Icelanders guessed that they could not win, started playing rudely, especially in the second half. It is a bad feature but we often see it in football.
“Dinamo” made the first dangerous moment at the 13th minute when Robertinho rushed in penalty area and assisted Koshkadze. Robertinho should have kicked the ball himself. Soon after, Czech Homola made good assist, Spanish Albert Yague shot the ball but goalkeeper parried it on corner… Jigauri took corner kick badly.
The hosts had advantage in the first 25-30 minutes. At the end of the half, Icelanders had two chances: first, Gunnar Jonsson kicked the ball so badly that spectators laughed. At the 43rd minute, Jonsson shot from a long distance and Loria parried it with foot.
… Alex Garcia was right – the pitch of the national stadium is in a bad condition and it did not let players play well.
As for the second half, Yague started with goal. Spanish player fought till the end – 1:0.
Soon after, Yague kicked badly. Though at the 55th minute, Giorgi Kakhelishvili shot the ball – 2:0.
Alex Garcia made three substitutions during 10 minutes.
At the end of the match, Icelanders played rudely and referee showed yellow cards.
Overall, “Dinamo” did not find it difficult to beat “Reykjavik”.
Press conference:
Runar Kristinsson: “We could not win with 4 goals in Tbilisi. So, we were going to show just a good playing but referee made the match bad – he showed yellow-red cards. It is bad for “Dinamo” which continues playing at Europa League”.
Kristinsson was asked if Slovak “Zilina” was better team than “Dinamo”. He repeated that “Zilina” was better. “Zilina” which lost.
Alex Garcia: “The pitch is in a bad condition and it makes problem. As for playing, we made mistakes in the first half but we played better in the second one”.
“Dinamo” beat British style teams. It is interesting if “Dinamo” wants such teams as “Llanelli” and “Reykjavik”.
“Playing style is the same but we know that stronger teams will be in play off. I wish we had weaker opponent. Let us wait for the ballot”.
