Georgian judoka Varlam Liparteliani (90 kg) became the silver medalist of the Summer Olympic Games 2016.
Liparteliani lost the gold chance to Japanese Mashu Baker. Before final, the Georgian defeated Tajik Ustopirion, Uera of Nauru, Lkhagvasuren of Mongolia and Gvak of South Korea.
Today, Beka Gviniashvili (100 kg) will participate. He will start from the second round and will face Benjamin Fletcher of Great Britain.
It should be noted, that Georgia has one silver and one bronze medal and shares 33-34th places with Ukraine. USA is in the first place – 10 gold, 9 silver, 9 bronze.
