Datunashvili Took the Fifth Place

Today Greco-Roman champions and prize winners were found out in 75 and 85 kg at World Championship which is under way in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent. Zurab Datunashvili (75 kg) and Vladimer Gegeshidze (85 kg) wrestled in the name of Georgia but they could not get in Top 3.

Zurab Datunashvili held five fights in the main draw. After beating Arkadiusz Kulynycz of Poland (8:0), Valery Palenski of Belarus (4:2) and Yavor Yanakiev of Bulgaria (2:2) and Gurpreet Singh of India (7:5), Datunashvili failed to Arsen Julfalakyan of Armenia (0:1). In repechage final the Georgian lost to Elvin Mursaliyev of Azerbaijan.

Vladimer Gegeshidze lost gold-silver chance in ¼ final where he failed to Saman Tahmasebi of Azerbaijan. The latter made through to final and Gegeshidze wrestled in repechage semifinal. Unfortunately, the Georgian failed to Ramsin Azizsir of Germany and finally, took the 7th place.
