27-year-old Georgian tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili made through to the third round of US Open.
The Georgian top seed beat world No.394 America’s Jenson Brooksby 3:6, 7:6, (7:3), 7:5, 6:2 in 3 hours and 8 minutes. Basilashvili made 15 double faults and 71 unforced errors.
Nikoloz’s next opponent will be 25-year-old Germany’s Dominik Koepfer who is in the 118th place in the ranking.
In case of beating Koepfer, Basilashvili will defend 180 ranking points which he earned last year.
