Avtandil Tchrikishvili’s establishment in a new weight category is not decided yet. Irakli Tsirekidze, head coach of the Georgian judo team, informed worldsport.ge. According to the specialist, Tchrikishvili’s adaptation to 90 kg has already started but he may lose weight and compete in 81 kg again.

After Rio Olympics, Avtandil decided to compete in 90 kg. Recently, he won gold medal in a new weight category at the Georgian Championship.

“Avto’s transfer to 90 kg is probably inevitable. It is just hard to say when it will happen. We will discuss this issue and then, we will make a decision” – stated Irakli Tsirekidze.
