Georgian Sambo players won 3 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals at the European Championship in Bucharest, which was held on May 16-18.

Vakhtang Chidrashvili (57kg), Levan Nakhutsrishvili (68kg) and Davit Loriashvili (100kg) became champions. Besarion Berulava (74kg) and Niko Kutsia (82kg) won silver medals and Zviad Odoshashvili (62kg) and Zviad Metreveli (+100kg) gained bronze medals.

Georgian women’s team also took part in the European Championship, but with incomplete lineup, however still took 3 medals. Tea Sukhitashvili (68kg) and Nino Odzelashvili (72kg) won silver medals and Irine Leonidze (+80kg) – bronze medal.

In combat Sambo Davit Chochishvili (82kg) and Nodar Kudukhashvili (90kg) occupied the second place.
