Georgian freestyle wrestling team got in Group B of Baku World Cup with Iran, the USA, Turkey and Japan. The host team, Russia, Bulgaria, Belarus and Kazakhstan are in Group A.

Azerbaijani World Cup will be held on May 12-13. After the group stage matches, the first-placed teams will go through final. Second-placed teams will wrestle for the third place.

The team of Zaza Turmanidze will lack leaders in three from seven weight classes. Vladimer Khinchegashvili (55kg), Otar Tushishvili (66kg) and Giorgi Gogshelidze (96kg) will not be in optimal list. Georgian team will wrestle with the following staff: Giorgi Edisherashvili (55kg), Malkhaz Zarkua (60kg), Zurab Iakobashvili (66kg), Davit Khutsishvili (74kg), Davit Marsagishvili (84kg), Elizbar Odikadze (96kg) and Davit Modzmanashvili (120kg).
