The Team of Imereti won School’s chess team championship of Georgia. Participants of this championship were girls born in 1998-99 and cadets.
According to the information of press-centre of Georgian chess federation, 12 teams from different regions of Georgia participated in this tournament. The teams were the following:
1. # 57 school of Tbilisi (Vake-Saburtalo district)
2. Kvemo Kartli– New Samgori school (Gardabani disctrict)
3. Kakheti– Public school of Tsnori (Sighnagi regionს)
4. Shida Kartli- Gori# 2 school
5. Mtskheta-Mtianeti- Tianeti# 2 school
6. Samtskhe- Javakheti- Ninotsminda # 2 school
7. Racha-Lechkhumi- Kvemo Svaneti– Ambrolauri # 2 school
8. Imereti– Kutaisi # 29 school
9. Guria– Ozurgeti Parish schoolnamed after Gabriel bishop
10. Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti– Zugdidi # 2 school
11. Adjara– Keda region school
12. Apkhazia– Apkhazia # 6 school (Kutaisi)
Kutaisi# 29 school won this championship. Shida Kartli- Gori# 2 school took the second place and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti– Zugdidi # 2 school took the third place.
This tournament was joint project of Ministry of Science and Education and Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs of Georgia. Besides them Georgian chess federation was organizer of this tournament. After ending the tournament participants were awarded with medals, cups and memorable prizes.
