Davit Kubriashvili - The First Georgian "Barbarian"

Davit Kubriashvili, rugby player of Georgian national team and French “Toulon”, officially became the first Georgian who played in the staff of “Barbarians”.

“Barbarians” is an ancient club which is formed with world’s best rugby players twice a year and holds friendly matches against strong rugby teams. This time, England was opponent of “Barbarians” and won 38:32.

England had 17-point advantage but defense did not play well and disappointed fans. The hosts were winning 24:7. Try was scored before the break and they won the half with 10 points.

The second half started and “Barbarians” scored two tries within 16 minutes. Then, they advanced 31:24. England returned advantage 8 minutes before the end of the match. But “Barbarians” scored try and conversion in the end and won the match – 38:32.

England scored 4 tries and 2 penalties, used 3 conversions. “Barbarians” scored 6 tries and 4 conversions.

Kubriashvili was in the main staff and was substituted at the 50th minute. On June 4, “Barbarians” will hold the next match against Wales.
