Judoka Nodar Metreveli returns to active sport. “World Sport” was informed at Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs that the punishment of forever disqualified sportsman was annulled.

Nodar Metreveli was forced to leave judo in May 2011 because of thieving at the Azerbaijani meeting. The management of the ministry made this strict sanction. Accordingly, the ministry made the decision about amnesty.

Judokas and coaches applied to Georgian Judo Federation to amnesty the disqualified sportsman. The federation sent the similar letter to Ministry of Sports. It did not happen for the first time in Georgian sport. One month ago, football players Giga Bechvaia, Roin Oniani, Levan Vartagava, Spartak Gogia and Kakha Kirtadze were amnestied.

Basketball player Besik Lezhava who physically assaulted referee was let to play for foreign club.

“World Sport” was interested in the fate of judoka Ioseb Tselauri. He physically assaulted referee at Universiade 2011 in May and was disqualified. As we found out, there will be no amnesty in this case.
