Iakob Kajaia's Bronze Medal and License for Tokyo Olympics at World Championship!

Georgia gained medal at World Championship in Greco-Roman wrestling which is underway in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.

Iakob Kajaia (130 kg) won bronze medal. In repechage he beat Germany’s Eduard Popp 5:0.

As a result, Kajaia also gained license for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Overall, the Georgian Greco-Roman wrestling team finished the championship with two gold and one bronze medal. Nugzar Tsurtsumia (55 kg) and Lasha Gobadze (82 kg) won gold medals.

World Championship in freestyle wrestling is beginning on September 19.
