World senior champion 2014 Zurab Sturua (2536) won European Senior Championship this time.

Eretria (Greece) hosted the tournament. Sturua won 6 games, played 3 draws and took the first place with 7.5 points. Tsiala Kasoshvili took the 20^th place with 4.5 points.

Nona Gaprindashvili earned 5.5 points and took the 5^th place. As for Tamar Khmiadashvili (2043) took the 27^th place with 4.5 points. Gaprindashvili won gold medal among women and Khmiadashvili won silver medal.
