The site of CSKA Moscow confirmed transfer of Manuchar Markoishvil, one of the leaders of the Georgian national basketball team.

Markoishvili who was a free agent signed a 2-year contract with the Russian club.

In the previous season Manuchar played for “Galatasaray” Istanbul. He had injury but after return Manuchar became one of the leaders of the club.

The Georgian guard has held 10 games in Euroleague. His average results are7.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steal in 25.6 minutes. Manuchar has held 20 games at the Turkish Championship. He has earned 9.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.9 assist in 24.1 minutes.

Markoishvili is one of the best wing players in Europe. He is a leader of the Georgian national team. In EuroBasket 2013 he earned 13.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steal in 33.3 minutes.

Dimitrios Itoudis: “We are happy that such energetic player has joined us. In the previous season I was observing him at the Turkish Championship. Besides that, I have seen his play in “Cantu” and the Georgian national team. I am sure we will use his energy, devotion and ability. He will help us in defense. Besides that, Manuchar is an excellent offensive player. I hope players, coaches and the staff will help him in adaptation and Manuchar will become an important part of our club”.

Manuchar Markoishvili: “To tell the truth, I did not expect the suggestion from CSKA. But I always dreamed about it. So, I was very happy when they called me. I am looking forward to wearing the T-shirt of the club. My dream has come true and I will do my best to celebrate victory in every game. I know I have to work hard but it only makes me happy. I believe everything will be alright!”
