Ketsbaia Named the Composition for the Match against Scotland and Gibraltar

Temur Ketsbaia, head coach of Georgian national team, named the list of those football players, who are called up for the match against Scotland and Gibraltar, on October 11 and 14.

According to the official website of GFF, Ketsbaia chose the following players:

Goalkeepers: Giorgi Loria (“OFI”, Greece), Roin Kvaskhvadze (“Othellos”, Cyprus), Omar Migineishvili (“Dinamo”).

Defenders: Guram Kashia (“Vitesse”, Netherlands), Ucha Lobzhanidze (“Omonia”, Cyprus), Akaki Khubutia (“Goverla”, Ukraine), Solomon Kvirkvelia (“Rubin”, Russia), Gia Grigalava (“Anzhi”, Russia), Giorgi Rekhviashvili (“Boluspor”, Turkey), Davit Kvirkvelia (“Samtredia”), Lasha Dvali (“Skonto”, Latvia).

Midfielders: Murtaz Daushvili (“Karpaty”, Ukraine), Sandro Kobakhidze (“Volyn”, Ukraine), Jaba Kankava (“Dnipro”, Ukraine), Valeri Kazaishvili (“Vitesse”, Netherlands), Tornike Okriashvili (“Genk”, Belgium), Jano Ananidze (“Spartak”, Russia), Avto Ebralidze (“Gil Vicente”, Portugal), Mate Tsintsadze, Giorgi Papunashvili, Giorgi Papava, Irakli Dzaria (all “Dinamo”).

Forwards: Levan Mchedlidze (“Empoli”, Italy), Nikoloz Gelashvili (“Flamurtari”, Albania).

Ketsbaia did not call Davit Targamadze, midfielder of “Illichivets” Mariupol, for the match. The Georgian had not arrived to Mariupol after the match against Ireland due to the situation in Ukraine. Defender Temur Gongadze (“Chikhura”) and midfielder Grigol Dolidze (“Samtredia”) will not play for the national team either.

Instead, he called up young defender Lasha Dvali from “Skonto” and midfielders from “Dinamo” Tbilisi: Mate Tsintsadze, Giorgi Papava and Giorgi Papunashvili. This four players have never played for the national team.

The Georgian national team will face Scotland in Glasgow and Gibraltar in Faro, Portugal.  

After the match against Ireland, Ketsbaia said at the press conference, that if his apprentices did not show positive results in the match against Scotland and Gibraltar, he will leave his post.
