Georgian U-18 Judo Team Won Bronze Medals

Georgian U-18 judo team has won the bronze medal at World Team Championship. After impressive victories over Italy and Japan, Georgian judokas played against Russia and won only two meetings of 7. Russians got one points without fight because Georgia had no participant in 44 kg (women).

Giorgi Kizilashvili and Giorgi Tenadze’s team members moved from the semifinal to repechage final where faced Germany. Neither Georgia nor Germany had participant in the lighter weight of women. Accordingly, 7 fights was held in order to get through to top three.

The bronze fate was decided by heavyweight wrestlers. Aleksi Svianadze defeated the opponent and made the Georgian team win 4:3.

Russia became the world champion by beating Brazil (5:3) in final. Japan gained the second bronze medal.
