Vladimir Weiss: "Hopefully, We Will Find New Players Who Will Help the National Team"

Vladimir Weiss, head coach of the Georgia national team, met journalists before leaving for Dubai and talked about friendly matches. According to the Slovak specialist, the goal of the meeting is to find new players for the national team.

Weiss stated the best players of the national championship are called up for the national team. He also wanted to call up the legionaries who do not have practice in official matches but their clubs did not let them go to the national team.

Vladimir Weiss (head coach of the Georgia national team): “This time I do not have other choice because legionaries cannot arrive. This time neither first nor second composition is called up for the national team. Let us see how these guys will play Uzbekistan and Jordan.

Uzbekistan is quite strong team. Our goal is to find new players for the national team. I think we will have quite difficult matches.

I wanted to call up many players but unfortunately, only Khocholava managed to arrive. It is strange for me because I also worked for clubs and I always let players go to their national teams. I do not want to call this team the third composition but it is the best composition of the national championship.

Of course, it would be better to hold friendly matches in the official windows of the FIFA but last year we could not find an opponent and perhaps, this year we will not have many friendly matches as well.

I think the called-up players deserved this chance. I attended their matches at the national championship.

As for failure to Moldova, the players did their best but they were too nervous and leader players could not play well. Now a match against Serbia is ahead and we must win it. I am sure fans will come to the stadium to support us”.

The Georgia national team will depart for Dubai on January 21. The team will hold friendly matches against Uzbekistan on January 23 and Jordan on January 25.
