The Georgian men’s judo team is 8-time European champion. Irakli Uznadze’s team won gold medal at European Championship which was under way in Kazan, Russia.

The Georgian judokas beat Hungary 5:0, Greece – 4:1, Poland – 4:1 and in final they defeated Russia 3:2. Nugzar Tatalashvili (73 kg), Avtandil Tchrikishvili (81 kg) and Varlam Liparteliani (90 kg) gained golden points for the team.
