Two Georgian Finals

Members of the Georgian team will face each other in finals of 90 and +100 kg at Tbilisi Grand Prix which is under way at Sports Palace.

Varlam Liparteliani and Beka Gviniashvili will wrestle for gold medal in 90 kg. Adam Okruashvili and Levan Matiashvili will wrestle each other in +100 kg.

Varlam Liparteliani beat Ludovic Gobert of France, Sherali Jubaev of Uzbekistan and Marcus Nyman of Sweden. Beka Gviniashvili defeated Joakim Dvarby of Sweden, Tural Safguliyev of Azerbaijan and Krisztian Toth of Hungary. Adam Okruashvili won over Iakiv Khammo of Ukriane, Or Sasson of Israel and Abdullo Tangriev of Uzbekistan. Matiashvili beat Ruslan Abdrazakov of Kazakhstan, Aslan Kambiev of Russia and Oleksandr Gordiienko of Ukraine.

In 100 kg Aleksandre Mskhaladze will wrestle for bronze medal. He defeated Grigori Minaskin of Estonia and Karl-Richard Frey of Germany. In semifinal the Georgian failed to Dimitri Peters of Germany. In repechage final the Georgian judoka will face Jevgenijs Borodavko of Latvia.

Today Paata Gviniashvili, Zviad Gogochuri (both 90 kg), Lasha Guruli, Aleksandre Zaalishvili, Iason Nemsadze (all 100 kg), Onise Bugadze, Vakhtang Okruashvili (both +100 kg) and Irine Leonidze (+78 kg) also wrestled on tatami of Sports Palace but they lost the first stage.

The final block will start at 17:00 Tbilisi time.
